Description

The Principle of UV-Visible Spectroscopy is based on the absorption of ultraviolet light or visible light by chemical compounds, which results in the production of distinct spectra. Spectroscopy is based on the interaction between light and matter. UV/Vis spectroscopy is routinely used in analytical chemistry for the quantitative determination of different analytes, such as transition metal ions, highly conjugated organic compounds, and biological macromolecules. Spectroscopic analysis is commonly carried out in solutions.
The Shimadzu UV-1800 is an advanced high-resolution spectrophotometer utilizing a precision Czerny-Turner optical system. This spectrophotometer achieves a resolution of 1 nm, the highest in its class, in a compact design. Offering an array of user-friendly features, the UV-1800 can be used either as a stand-alone instrument or as a PC-controlled instrument. USB memory can also be connected directly to the UV-1800 for simple data transfer and printing is possible with the optional screen-copy printer or printers that support PCL control codes.
