About the Department of Computer Science and Engineering

The department of Computer Science and Engineering(CSE) came into existence as an independent department in 1988. Over the years, the department has developed to become a center of excellence providing in-depth technical knowledge and opportunities for innovation and research with well equipped computer facilities and dedicated faculty. The B. Tech degree program in computer science and engineering was started in the year 1985 under the Department of Electronics and Communication. The M.Tech program in Computer Science and Engineering started in the year 1989 and M.Tech program in Computer Science and Information Security in the year 2010 with the aim to develop core competence and prepare the students to carry out development work as well as to take up the challenges in research.  Students are also encouraged to participate in co-curricular and extra curricular activities. The department coordinates the activities of the student clubs like IE(CSE), Linux Users Group, and ACM student chapter. Alumni are working in reputed industries and a few have emerged as entrepreneurs.
