Abstract

A compact (26 × 32 × 1.6mm3) planar antenna operating at 3.5 (WiMAX)/4.7 (C-band)/8.4/10.5 (X-band) GHz is presented. These four bands are achieved by graving one circular two parallelogram slots in the ground plane and a rectangular radiating part. The designed MSPA has S11 <-10dB and impedance bandwidth of 7.49% (3.60-3.34 GHz), 4.72% (4.77-4.55 GHz), 4.76% (8.60-8.20 GHz) and 3.51% (10.70-10.33GHz) centered at 3.5/4.7/8.4/10.5GHz with the gain of 2.5/2.9/5.3/6.7dB respectively in simulation. The design simulations are carried on a FR4 substrate with height =1.6mm, ϵr=4.4 and δ=0.002 using HFSS v.13.0 simulation software.
