Introduction: The nature of research, as well as mental illness treatment, has been continuously evolving. Although various studies have focused on Activities of Daily Living (ADL) and Instrumental Activities of Daily Living (IADL) difficulties in schizophrenia, no formal review has been established so far. This scoping review aims to identify existing occupational therapy literature related to ADL and IADL in people with schizophrenia. Method: Comprehensive search of Web of Sciences, Scopus, PubMed/MEDLINE, CINAHL Plus full-text, ProQuest Health & Medical Complete, PsycINFO databases was carried out for peer-reviewed journal articles related to ADL and IADL among patients with schizophrenia. Data were extracted and analyzed using the descriptive analysis. Conclusion: This study provided a broad overview of ADLs and IADLs done by patients with schizophrenia. The results of the current review will help identify gaps in the occupational therapy evidence related to practice in mental illnesses, especially in schizophrenia.
