N2 - Lower cost and lower power consumption are two emerging issues in the deployment of household IoT systems. In this paper, design and development of a prototype IoT-based home security system has been proposed. The low-cost sensors, Arduino board, and Raspberry Pi board are used to provide 24 × 7 home securities. In this system development, event-driven strategy is adopted to conserve energy.
