Design and simulation of LCL filter in wind energy conversion system

Abstract

This paper presents the design and simulation of LCL filter in wind energy conversion system in the isolated mode of operation, based on their general equations and designing a single-phase sinusoidal pulse width modulated voltage source inverter with the unipolar voltage switching in MATLAB/SIMULINK environment. Selecting Permanent magnet synchronous generator. The LCL filter is introduced for attenuation of noise and it including R damping. The simulation results verify that LCL filter has a main role in wind energy conversion system. The total harmonics distortion of load voltage is analyzed.
