Abstract

A new simple, sensitive spectrophotometric method in ultra violet region has been developed for the determination of racecadotril in bulk drug and its pharmaceutical formulation. Racecadotril exhibited maximum absorbance at 231nm with apparent molar absorptivity 5.320 × 10 3 in methanol. It obeyed Beer's law in the concentration range of 8 - 40 mcg/mL. Results of the analysis were validated statistically and by recovery studies.
