Efficiency and Loss analysis of the Universal motor by theoretical and experimental in the application of the mixer grinder

Abstract

In the application of food processor, the universal motor is used. Universal motor with smaller size gives higher power output and at lower speed, starting torque is high and can carry higher loads. In this paper, mathematical model and experimental validation of the universal motor for a mixer grinder is analysed. The losses and efficiency of the universal motor based mixer grinder theoretically and practically analysed. It has been observed that the efficiency of the Triac based universal motor is 39.6% - 51.8%. As the speed of the universal motor increases, the losses also increase. The torque is inversely proportional to the speed in the application of the mixer grinder.
