Abstract

An energy audit has been performed on one of MIT's hostel buildings, the hostel. The purpose of this audit was to look for opportunities to reduce the amount of energy being used. This audit was performed in an extensive manner. Subsequently, key areas of energy wastage were identified and suitable reforms were suggested to reduce the usage of energy. Also, easily applicable methods with short payback period have been recommended. In order to model the building and analyze its energy consumption, eQUEST software was used.
