Abstract

Blood pressure was recorded by the Doppler technique in 155 normal neonates, within 24 hr of birth. Of these, 82 were males and 73 were females. All babies were of appropriate weight for their gestational age. The mean systolic blood pressure ranged from 47.20±13.83 mm Hg to 79.45±13.05 mm Hg with an overall mean of 69.80±14.61 mm Hg. The mean blood pressure of infants according to different gestational periods ranged from 47.45±10.39 mm Hg to 73.25±14.55 mm Hg with an overall mean of 69.80±14.61 mm Hg.
