title = "Integration of Plug-in Electric Vehicles in Smart Grid: A Review",
abstract = "Conventional internal combustion engines are the main reason for air pollution and global warming. In order to overcome these issues Electric vehicles (EV's) can be used. Also, by utilizing electric vehicles with sustainable power sources the nonrenewable assets can be saved for next generation. Electric vehicles which are connected to the smart grid (SG) can be used as a catalyst to reduce the pollution as well as they can be the prominent transportation systems. In this paper various methods such as Vehicle to Grid (V2G) and Grid to vehicle (G2V) which are used for the integration of electric vehicles to smart grid have been explained. This article also summarizes the different energy storage devices required for charging the EVs. Finally, the performance of Escape Ford electric vehicle using current control algorithm has been validated using MATLAB/Simulink platform.",
