Abstract

Dowry related violence on women has assumed an epidemic proportion in the recent times. Although stringent laws to deal with this social menace such as Sec. 304 (B) and Sec. 498 (A) of the Indian Penal Code (I.P.C.) have tried to administer justice to the victims, recent reports suggest their misuse by the women and her relatives with ulterior motives. This review is an attempt to discuss few drawbacks of the dowry related legislation.
