Abstract
A new extension is proposed to the well known Steiglitz McBride (SM) algorithm, to approximate the discrete cosine transform (DCT) of the electrocardiogram (ECG) as the impulse response of a pole-zero model of low order in parallel form, wherein each sub-model would approximate the transform of a component wave or a part of it.
