Abstract

Intelligent transportation system (ITS) administrations has a critical consideration and to help ITS administrations, design is produced to recover data and information from mobile vehicles and roadside units in an effective way. A two-level vehicular ad hoc network (VANET) framework is a high-level infrastructure-based system. This paper proposes a query convention for the VANET framework to enhance the information retrieval efficiency and fast mode to communicate the information between the mobile vehicles. The proposed protocol uses two kind of algorithms which is to find the traffic density of the particular road segment in the area when the vehicular communication with the road side units are unavailable and the algorithm helps the vehicles to provide path to other vehicles with the required amount of acceleration to reduce the congestion that might occur in the other scenario. The protocol developed is a prototype that lets the user to choose a particular destination node to communicate with and the protocol provides the shortest distance to communicate with the destination vehicle with less look up latency thus with the help of minimum energy consumption, less bandwidth the information is shared with the destination vehicle for the suitable communication. This wireless communication protocol which is analysed is to gather information from the VANET and to develop a protocol to share the information of the data between the vehicles through the shortest path by allocation of bandwidth with less packet loss, energy loss in the presence of the road side unit. The problem statement defined here is to analyze the look up protocol for Two-Tier VANETs and analyze the performance of the VANET with different constraints and parameters using SUMO traffic simulator and MATLAB. The proposed algorithm will provide information related to the road density and with the help of this information feasibility of the traffic can be generated. The proposed algorithm will reduce the number of accidents and traffic congestion problems that has been occurring in these days. It can also be used to generate the required information for the vehicle to create the path to reach the destination with the help of the data that is collected and stored in the local server since each peer maintains a Data Base which stores the predictability information of the road segments. MATLAB, SUMO explorer, Extensible Mark-up Language is used to come to the conclusion.
