Synthesis and antimicrobial activities of s-alkyl derivatives of 1,3,4- oxadiazole carrying benzothiazole core

Abstract

A new series of s-alkyl derivatives of 1,3,4-oxadiazole carrying benzothiazole moiety (5a-l) has been synthesized starting from 6-amino benzothiazole. The structures of these newly synthesized compounds were elucidated by elemental analysis, 1H NMR and mass spectral data. Also these compounds were evaluated for their antibacterial activity against the bacteria Pseudomonas, Staphylcoccus aureus, Enterococcus, Eschericia coli and antifungal activity against Candida albicans.
