Cardiac tamponade is pressure on the heart muscle due to fluid filling the pericardial space. Cardiac chamber rupture leading to cardiac tamponade in blunt trauma to the chest is uncommon and is associated with a high mortality rate. We present a similar case wherein a young person travelling on a bike met with an accident and died due to cardiac tamponade.
